Requirements to Become a Member of the Summerville Police Cadet Post #751
Be age 15-20 or 14 and a graduate of the eighth grade.
Live within 10 miles of the Town of Summerville, SC.
Either actively pursue or possess a high school diploma or GED.
Maintain an overall "C" average with no failing grades.
No criminal record or history of serious traffic violations.
Be willing to expect the expectations of the department and follow the Explorer Code.
Be physically and mentally able to handle the training and activities.
Be willing to attend meetings on weekends and participate in special events and functions.
